Songwriter/Producer Dapo Torimiro Signs Exclusive Worldwide Co-Publishing Agreement With Walt Disney Music Publishing

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 21, 2009 -- The summer is heating up for rising songwriter/producer Dapo Torimiro (http://www.dapomiroworks.com), who has signed an exclusive worldwide co-publishing agreement with Walt Disney Music Publishing. An accomplished musician, Torimiro is sought after by the industry's top-notch artists and as a talented songwriter is currently working on film, television and recording projects across multiple formats.

"Dapo is immensely talented and we look forward to a long association with him," said Barbara Vander Linde, Vice President, Creative for Disney Music Publishing.

Steven Vincent, Vice President, Music and Soundtracks, Disney Channel, said, "We have a great track record with Disney Music Publishing and we're pleased Dapo has joined our talented roster of songwriters who understand the Disney brand and how to extend a story through music for an audience of kids, tweens, and families on Disney Channel and Disney XD."

Torimiro said, "I was looking for a publishing company that not only opened me up to opportunities to write and produce for the industry's top recording artists but also let me work on my other love: creating music for film and TV."

Torimiro's latest track, ''No Parade,'' a song on Grammy-nominee Jordin Sparks' just-released sophomore album, BATTLEFIELD (Released July 21, 2009), is receiving positive buzz as a stand-out power ballad. Currently on tour with the Jonas Brothers, the season six ''American Idol'' winner describes her new album as reflecting growth and maturity.

Torimiro wrote and produced ''No Parade'' along with Oscar-nominated songwriting duo Scott Cutler and Anne Preven (''Listen,'' sung by Beyoncé Knowles in the 2006 film Dreamgirls.) Of his work with Jordin Sparks, Torimiro expresses, "Jordin is an incredibly talented artist, and she was a delight to work with."

Torimiro's recent song placements also include ''Quickly'' (Grammy-winner, John Legend's EVOLVER, featuring multi-platinum-selling artist Brandy); ''Running'' (David Archuleta); ''Torn Down'' (Brandy's HUMAN); and ''Know Better'', ''Apart From Me'' and ''This Step Alone'' (Elliott Yamin's FIGHT FOR LOVE).

About Dapo Torimiro:

An accomplished pianist, multi-instrumentalist and Yamaha-endorsed artist, Dapo Torimiro was previously sought after by the industry's top-notch artists to exhibit his skills as a touring and studio musician as well as to score various television and film projects. In 2006, Lauryn Hill selected the Nigerian-born musician to tour with her as her keyboardist for several months, and Torimiro also had the opportunity to tour with Lalah Hathaway and perform with the legendary Stevie Wonder. Leaving his role as a touring musician behind him, Torimiro enthusiastically embraces the realization of his ultimate goal: songwriting and producing for major artists. Song placements include ''Quickly'' (Grammy-winner, John Legend's EVOLVER, featuring multi-platinum-selling artist Brandy); ''Running'' (David Archuleta); ''Torn Down'' (Brandy's HUMAN); and ''Know Better'', ''Apart From Me'' and ''This Step Alone'' (Elliott Yamin's FIGHT FOR LOVE). Earlier this summer, Torimiro was named ''International Producer of the Year'' at the 2009 Nigeria Entertainment Awards (NEA) held at Howard University in Washington D.C.
