Olympian Shane Hamman Signs Publishing Contract with Tate Publishing

(PRWEB) November 13, 2008 -- Tate Publishing and Enterprises, LLC, is proud to announce the recent signing of Olympian Shane Hamman to a publishing contract.

Shane Hamman, a native of Mustang, Oklahoma, is a two-time Olympic weightlifter who holds several world and American records, including lifting 1,008 pounds in a standing squat, a feat yet unmatched in any weightlifting competition.

In his forthcoming book with Tate, Hamman will share his own life story of growing up in Mustang and his path to realizing his dream in the world of competitive weightlifting. He also plans to share his own spiritual testimony, as well as the story of Rachel Scott, a student slain in the school shooting in Columbine, Colorado, on April 20, 1999.

Hamman is a national spokesman for Rachel's Challenge, a program committed to inspiring, instructing, and enabling young people to actively change the environment in their school in a positive way. Shane travels the country speaking to thousands of schoolchildren each year, challenging them to raise the bar in their school atmosphere the same way he has lifted hundreds and thousands of pounds over his spectacular career.

Ryan Tate, President and CEO of Tate Publishing, stated, "Shane is exactly the type of author we are proud to have on our team. He is successful, humble, and eager to help people achieve their dreams. He has an incredible ability when speaking to a group of 20,000 to make them feel like he is only talking to each person individually. We are excited about the future and know he will be very successful, and his book will inspire and help people to achieve their dreams."

When asked about his decision to sign with Tate Publishing, Hamman answered, "There are several reasons. First of all, the people. When I met Ryan and Dr. [Richard Tate, I could tell they were good people, and the staff was very professional." Hamman also indicated that the fact that the Mustang publisher is a Christian based company influenced his decision to sign.

During the remarkable recent growth of Tate Publishing, the company has recently expanded into the field of mobile technology by producing audio books. Shane will also voice his own audio book with Tate, widening the scope of people that his book will reach.

Once produced, the both versions of Shane's book will be available nationwide from any bookstore, or online through internet web sites including amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com, and walmart.com.
